Is there a parallel universe?

Does the spirit realm exist?

The answers to those questions may finally be at hand.

Former NASA engineer Ian Higgs is shot dead on the streets of London. Prior to his death, Higgs sent his daughter a cryptic letter that may point to the identity of his killer.

The United States government, with its own interest in the matter, turns to the Delphi Group. Led by Zane Watson, the team follows the letter’s clues across Europe, from a luxury apartment in Vienna to an ancient cathedral in Geneva.

The trail ends at CERN, the famed physics laboratory and home to the world’s largest particle collider.

As a snow storm rages outside, the Delphi team uncovers a shocking plot playing out in the darkened hallways a shadowy group plans to use the particle collider to tear a hole in the heavens.

Soon, only one question remains…

What might come through from the other side?

The Signal Delphi Group Thriller Book 1 edition by John Sneeden Religion Spirituality eBooks

Oh my, but what potential this book had, what storyline this could have taken but didn't, what arcs that could have been branched but were never touched. I guess if you like a novel that gives not only hints but direct dialogue of something so amazing you can't wait for more, yet having that amazing idea never come to fruition, is your thing, then this series is just for you! It's like a great spy novel with a hint of something that has yet to be touched, a story that we as the reading public are dying to hear, that just gets pushed to the side and forgotten. I mean seriously!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Okay, to actually explain something so amazing as a gateway or reality that should add another hundred or two pages to the novel, yet just blow it off, made me freaking angry. I read all three of these, and apparently each one is a stand-alone novel. They are not a trilogy except for the fact that the subsequent novels keep the same characters that you get to know over them all, and there is something sinister and other-worldly/supernatural that happens that they never fully get to. Sure, it's like the real government where it's all kept secret and hush-hush, but if we're reading this from the character point of view, why are we even told these amazing things? Nephilim? So they see they are real, why does this novel not move forward more into that territory? Why just leave it with some strange "sighting" and it's done? The other two books are the same, with book 3 just being an agonizing example of how to keep readers hooked for more future books. The three Delphi books could easily have been a single novel, but longer in explaining the supernatural, examining them in more detail, and giving them a purpose. THAT would have made a book that sells millions, and begged for a second part. Intro, storyline, ending, done. Leaving so many things unanswered just frustrates readers to the point we don't want to read any more, and it's getting extremely tiresome with authors continuously doing this. Just write an entire novel, guys, and visit everything. There's always another book you can write without sucking another five bucks out of us.

The Signal Delphi Group Thriller Book 1 edition by John Sneeden Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

Started out good, but main character was flawed, not the hero we expect. He was out most of the book because he was captured in the beginning. The woman character the author kept calling her The Italian and by her name in the same sentence. Almost like there were two people. But what really turned me off was right near the end the book turns all religious, not what I was expecting.
Another great book that grabs you from the beginning and doesn't want to let you go...
I loaded this book into my intending it to be a between the load wash day fill in... I started the first few chapters the day I rec'd it and was so hooked I couldn't put the book down.
I had intended to stop at about the 25% mark but just kept saying after the next chapter, again and again... the next thing I knew I was up past bedtime and so caught up that the end of the book was there before I knew it...
It had all the qualities that I love in books... the writer had the ability to make the characters 'alive' for me... I was there as an invisible actor in the drama. He made me feel the range of emotions we humans have... fear, nervousness, anger, happiness, a few times I even let the emotions out (my husband said I muttered, "no don't" a few times). He kept the twists and turns well, a few times I thought things were going to go in a different direction but I was wrong.
I was completely engaged in the book.
I highly recommend this book, and will watch this writers other books... very well done.
Now I am off to start book 2... The Portal ;-)
This book has lots of interesting characters, that are either good or bad. Of course the good guys are likeable and every body makes for fun reading. It centers around an enemy operative who has plans for the Hadron Collider, plans that go well beyond the search for the elusive Higgs Bosom particle. It veers into exorcism and demons, which are usually enough to turn me off of a book. In this case they make-up such a small part of the book, that it didn't really hurt the story. It has a great futuristic robot in it and portals to other dimensions, which I do enjoy, when they are necessary to the story. If you want a little bit of every thing, this book is for you. I would have said, It didn't captivate me quite enough to want to read the sequel.....that is, until I got to the last few pages. Now I am very curious as to what the "signal" means. That said, this is not a cliff hanger, it's a complete book, but there's more to the story. One thing is for sure you won't get bored with this one.
